The GoBD - "Principles for the proper keeping and storage of books, records and documents in electronic form and for data access" - require taxpayers to record the electronic accounting process (electronic books and IT system) in procedural documentation. This extends from the creation and receipt of documents, through storage and archiving, to the analysability of the documents. Missing, incomplete or incorrect documentation can jeopardise the deduction of operating expenses and input tax and may result in additional assessments.
Regardless of the size or complexity of a company, there is a fundamental obligation to create procedural documentation that is comprehensible to third parties.
Many companies already keep their accounts electronically and the number of electronic accounting interfaces with other systems is increasing. Accordingly, the majority of companies are affected by this.
